Group Manager Mark Reed has been in the London Fire Brigade (LFB) for over twenty years serving at fire stations in inner and outer London and within the LFB’s Control Room, policy departments and Special Operations Group. In previous roles Mark has managed single and multi appliance whole time fire stations, was a Regulatory Fire Safety Team Leader and managed the strategic day to day crewing levels at the LFB’s 102 fire stations. Mark is currently leading a policy review team. In addition to his Incident Command role, Mark provides specialist advice to Incident Commanders on Regulatory Fire Safety Issues and is a National High Volume Pump and a National Waste Site Fires Tactical Advisor.
Since 2014 Mark has been on the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) Waste Site Fires Working Group working with the waste industry and other agencies reducing the number and impact of fires at waste facilities. Mark is an instructor on the NFCC Waste Site Fires Tactical Advisor course and is keen to work with the waste industry as new technologies come on line and processes develop to ensure UK Fire and Rescue Services are at the forefront of supporting the industry as it moves forward.
