Position: Specialist (Waste and Recycling)

Bio: Nicola Kemp is a Specialist (Waste and Recycling) working in the Policy and Insights team at WRAP. Nicola joined WRAP in 2022 and supports the delivery of key projects for Government funders and other partners.
Nicola is currently leading a number of projects including WRAP’s ongoing work to help deliver the Organics Roadmap. This roadmap was developed by WRAP in 2021, to ensure the organics sector is ready for the future growth in tonnage resulting from the aspirations of the Resources & Waste Strategy for England. This critical project requires close collaboration with key stakeholders including LAs and organics trade sector bodies, policy makers and regulators to facilitate and support the sector to facilitate necessary change.
Prior to working at WRAP, Nicola spent just over two decades working in waste management within Local Government. During which time she managed the introduction of various kerbside collection service changes such as; co-collected food and garden waste collections, restricted residual waste collections, enhanced kerbside recycling services and a commercial waste recycling service.
