FM BioEnergy’s full plant optimisation service set to boost biogas yields
Biogas experts FM BioEnergy will demonstrate their holistic approach to plant optimisation for AD operators and owners at the World Biogas Expo 2025 (Stand E20, 9-10 July, NEC Birmingham).

Combining over ten years’ history of delivering high-quality biological consultancy and analysis with a comprehensive product portfolio developed by their German partners Schaumann Bioenergy, FM BioEnergy are now in the unique position of being able to assist plant operators to boost their biogas output and maximise their return on investment.
The company’s 360° approach to biogas optimisation comprises a range of services, including: gas leakage detection (LDAR); trace elements; digester additives; silage additives; biological consultancy and advice; feedstock supply; and troubleshooting in the event of a biological incident. The end result is a one-stop-shop for any operator looking to improve the performance of their biogas plant or maintain their current high standards.

“We already support many of the UK’s leading biogas plant operators to fine tune their facilities, ensuring they remain at the top of their game,” states FM BioEnergy’s General Manager, Tim Elsome. “What we’re now looking to do is help the wider AD industry to raise overall operational standards. Whether that’s improving health & safety on sites with our recently revamped LDAR service or our trace element additives which are safe for operators to handle; making feedstock go further with our range of Silasil Energy silage additives; spotting performance trends before they start to impact biogas yields with our regular biological testing service; or helping operators decide whether to accept a new feedstock through our world-beating laboratory testing, our ultimate goal is to help site owners increase their biogas yields and improve their profit margins.”
FM BioEnergy will be keen to discuss recent projects with Vale Green Energy, BioWatt and Willsborough AD, all of whom have seen an uplift in performance since using their products and services. In addition, the company will highlight its extended gas leakage detection service, led by experienced AD plant manager Nick Cowie and using the most sensitive OGI camera on the market, EyeCGas® 2.0.

“AD plants are complex with lots of pipework, and having the necessary background knowledge and understanding of them is imperative to our service offering,” explains Nick. “Our enhanced Biogas Leak Detection Service adds to our holistic approach to biogas plant optimisation, from feedstock to biological support, and as such is a natural evolution for us.”
