Gen-C to highlight benefits of pay-as-you-go engine support at World Biogas Expo
Stand C603, World Biogas Expo 2022, 15-16 June, NEC, Birmingham
Gas engine specialist Gen-C will showcase its flexible pay-as-you-go approach to engine support at the World Biogas Expo 2022. Promising to cut engine servicing costs by up to 50%, increase CHP uptime and improve overall plant efficiency, Gen-C’s digital-first offering enables frustrated AD plant operators to break free from expensive and restrictive CHP servicing contracts.
“With many engines on UK biogas plants now approaching 48,000 hours of operation – meaning a major E70 service is required – traditional service providers may be encouraging AD operators to sign up to another long-term, costly contract,” says James Thompson, Managing Director of Gen-C. “In fact, the E70 service milestone is the ideal moment for CHP owners to walk away from their restrictive monthly contract and choose a flexible service offering that cuts their costs, improves their engine’s performance and puts them firmly in control.”
A smart approach to CHP servicing
Gen-C has more than 20 years’ experience in the generator service industry and is the exclusive UK distributor for Motortech and RS Motor. Offering the full range of engine support, the team will demonstrate key highlights to show visitors, including:
- Smart, open-access control panels that enable instant engine restarts, remote access and intelligent troubleshooting, boosting engine uptime and letting you get on with the job of running your AD plant.
- Full engine upgrades with biogas-specific parts for fewer process interruptions, lean energy utilisation and optimised electricity production.
- All major and minor servicing including E70, courtesy of Gen-C’s highly qualified service partners.
- Genuine spares for all major engine brands including MWM, Jenbacher, MAN, Scania and Liebherr, with next-day delivery and 12-months technical support as standard.
Flexible support in action
Gen-C will also showcase how its customers have benefitted since making the switch to its fresh take on CHP servicing. On-farm AD plant operator Nigel Bloom of Springvale Energies got in touch with Gen-C when his E70 service was due. Frustrated at having to wait up to three days for his long-term service provider to restart his engines whenever they went down, the tipping point came when they proposed charging an additional £150,000 for the E70 service, on top of the ongoing daily fee he was already paying. “By breaking away from our CHP service contract and switching to Gen-C’s pay-as-you-go option, we’ve cut our service and maintenance costs by 50% over the course of a year,” reveals Nigel. “We’re now in the driving seat, managing our engines ourselves and getting true value for money.”
New, used and rental CHPs
Co-locating with Gen-C on stand C603 will be sister company LouwSon Energy, which offers new, used and rental CHP engines and gensets from 100 kW to 1 MW+. With containerised options also available for sites with limited space and an average payback of just two years, Managing Director Roland Louwsma will be on hand to discuss the range of models on offer from leading brands including MAN, Liebherr and Scania.
“After a two-year hiatus, there’s a real appetite for face-to-face networking again and this year’s World Biogas Expo will serve as the perfect platform for us to showcase our entire CHP portfolio to the AD industry,” enthuses James Thompson. “Whether you’re looking for a new or used engine, approved CHP spares, want to get your engine running smoothly and more reliably, or are keen to upgrade to a digital, remote-access control panel, we’ve got you covered. We look forward to answering all your CHP-related queries on stand C603.”
